Michael Vick Philadelphia Eagles Jersey

Be the first on your block to have the new Michael Vick Philadelphia Eagles jersey...the NFL store is selling the Vick jersey in green, white, and black for $79.99 plus shipping...it's funny how the NFL believes Vick should be suspended for up to 6 games, but they are already selling his jersey to make money...

    Chris Rock is an idiot

Here are some thoughts as we head into the weekend...

Chris Rock was on "The Dan Patrick Show" on Wednesday...Rock was giving his thoughts on Michael Vick...just because someone is famous, that does not mean he is smart...Chris Rock may be one of the dumbest individuals I have heard...he was justifying dog fighting with that of hunting...it seems like most people just don't get it...

What the hell was Rick Pitino thinking when he got drunk with some woman, then banged her on the table of the restaurant after closing?...first off, the woman, Karen Cunagin Sypher (photo, right) is being accused of extortion...second, Pitino has this outstanding good reputation - why the hell would he blow it on this woman?...also, I thought Pitino was this religious Roman Catholic?...he is another fraud...

I'm not saying this woman is nasty, but she would be someone who I would consider nailing after a night of drinking...she looks like a bar hound...I do admit, she has some big headlights though...

Final thought, did Pitino personally own this restaurant?...did the bus boy change the table cloth the next morning?...

Sunday is my fantasy football draft...I'm in an eight team league and hold the fifth overall pick...I am studying LaDainian Tomlinson hard...can I squeeze one more year out of him?...

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Cleveland Browns wideout Donte Stallworth for the season wi
thout pay...the bleeding heart liberals and NFL union will be complaining that Goodell was too harsh?...they will cry, "give him a second chance"...

Is Pastor Tony Dungy and Jesse Jackson going to help Stallworth get back into the NFL next season...

San Francisco Giants did not gain any ground on the Los Angeles Dodgers in their head-to-head meeting this week...

Whatever happened to former Cleveland Browns kick returner Dino Hall? (photo, left) ...

The biggest match-up this weekend in Boston at Texas...the Red Sox are a half game up on the Rangers...something may give?...

I would not want to play the Cleveland Indians now...the Indians are a loose bunch of young kids who are having fun...this is a team that could ruin some contender's season...

Five Good Questions with . . . Zach of The Big Picture

We have one of the most masterful minds of the blogosphere - Zach from The Big Picture gives his thoughts on the upcoming NFL season...I thank him for his time because I know that he is one of the busiest men in the blogging bitness...

Q1. Every season there are a few teams that do really well even though they were predicted to have a lousy team. For example, the Dolphins went from 1-15 to a playoff team in one year. Who are some surprise teams that we should keep an eye on and why?
    A. Well, the Detroit Lions are going to really surprise people. They win two games and they've saved the city of Detroit.

Actually, not Detroit. The Lions are going to be fucking terrible. The Seahawks are a team to look out for. They're aging, yes, but love the Aaron Curry pick and with a healthy team; I think they win a weak NFC West. Look for Jacksonville to turn things around a bit, too. That ground game will likely be better than in '08.

Q2. What are your thoughts about the NFL playing an 18-game regular season?
    A. An 18-game season gives me two more weeks for my fantasy team to lose. I don't think I like it.

Q3. Fun question - you have just been granted a franchise and you are able to select any 2 players in the NFL to build your team around. Who would you select and why?
    A. Michael Vick and Chris Henry purely for marketing purposes. (Tom Brady and Adrian Peterson would probably be my second choice).

Q4. Of the current 32 NFL head coaches, who would you select to coach your team in a one-game must win situation? Why did you choose this coach?
    A. Bill Belichick. He's well dressed.

Q5. Last question - who will play in this year's Super Bowl -- and your winner?
    A. I guess I shouldn't pick the Lions and Browns. That would be fun. Every year around Super Bowl time I get sick of hearing about the Patriots and Steelers. Cleveland and Detroit could really use some positive attention.

New England will win it all. I think the NFC is pretty wide open as it has been. People like Philly. I'm not really sure why. And DeSean Jackson just go hurt. The New York Giants should be right there again. Losing Plax could be addition by subtraction. Same goes with Dallas and T.O. The Cowboys also have that new, gargantuan stadium that could inspire some sports magic. Chicago with Jay Cumler could be pretty good. The Falcons aren't quite there, but they'll be a playoff team.

I don't think I've really answered the question yet. Patriots over the Giants. No David Tyree catch this year.

Michael Vick getting help from St. Tony and St. Jesse

Will someone please give this sack of dog shit a job already...I am tired of hearing that poor Michael Vick doesn't have a job...he even has the "Patron Saint of Lost Causes" - Tony Dungy - personally making phone calls...

How many unemployed people in this country have someone making calls on their behalf to try and find them a job? -- not many!!!...

Since Dungy is this great humanitarian, once Vick gets a hook up, it would be nice if Dungy would also help other people who lost their jobs because of the economy - not because they were in prison...

Dungy should start some type of help center where he can review resumes and personally assist at least 100 unemployed people in getting a job...if he is so determined to help a convicted felon, then I think Dungy should also be able to turn a helping hand to someone who has a family to feed and a mortgage to pay...I'm not talking about helping these big shots who got canned, but the little person...the person who made $35,000 or less who became a victim of this mess that was caused by BOTH the Democrats and Republicans...this recession is not a Republican-thing nor is it a Democrat-thing...both parties are responsible...

It seems like this country is more sympathetic for people who are fuck-ups, like Vick, than they are for hard-working people who innocently became victims of this economic downturn...

It has gotten to the point that Saint Jesse Jackson is now involved...he is crying that the NFL owners are committing collusion against little Mikey Vick...Jackson stated that Vick is better than most starting quarterbacks in the NFL and definitely better than all the back-ups - so he deserves another chance in the NFL...
This is my question to dumb-fuck Jackson -- how many other people are clearly more qualified for certain jobs, but they aren't given a chance?????...for example, how many secretaries and administrative assistants are out-of-work and are clearly qualified to work at other companies, but are not given that chance even if an opening does occur?...how many welders are unemployed but are not given a chance to work at another company?...

Better yet, why doesn't Dungy and Jackson encourage Vick to use the education that he received at Virginia Tech...college coaches always tell players to prepare for life after football...why doesn't Vick be a role model by showing that he is more than "just a football player"...heck, Vick could even go back to school and learn a new trade, just like other people who lost their jobs...

Personally, I don't have a problem with Vick getting a second chance, however I do have a problem with people, like Jackson and Dungy, who believe Vick is entitled to another chance and are making him to be the victim...so please, will some NFL team take a shot with Vick before I see him standing on a corner with a sign "Will Work for Food"...

Major League Baseball should recognize scouts

Bill Plaschke of The Los Angeles Times writes about a Major League Baseball scout, and how scouts as a whole are not recognized by baseball's elite... "Despite the celebrated baseball practice of collecting, rating and bartering prospects, the world ignores the guys who sign them. There are no scouts in baseball's Hall of Fame. There are no old-timers days for scouts, no mid-game video tributes for scouts, no first pitches or last hurrahs. Once a scout reaches the age of 76 like Southland legend Pote, there is no way to retire gracefully, so they simply don't retire." ...

  • Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch writes how the St. Louis Cardinals are expected to draw 3.3 million people this year despite the economic woes of the country... "The arrival of All-Star outfielder Holliday spurred a run on ticket sales just as it symbolized the amount of tickets already sold. Holliday's home debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers was the first of seven consecutive sellouts for the Cardinals. And his acquisition, via trade, was made possible, multiple officials said, by earlier ticket sales that had overwhelmed the club's original estimates." ...

  • Michael Rosenberg of the Detroit Free Press writes about former Michigan basketball player Robert "Tractor" Traylor who at 32-years-old wants one more crack at the NBA and to help his mom who was a registered nurse on crack... "Lenora became a prostitute, turning tricks for drugs and cash. Sometimes she would bring johns back to the house, even if one of her kids was there." ...

  • Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune writes how Bucs cornerback Aqib Talib has learned from his rookie mistakes... "Talib's rookie season was all of six plays old when veteran receiver David Patten got behind him and caught a 39-yard scoring pass from Drew Brees in New Orleans. Talib trudged to the bench and buried his face in his hands." ...

Lou Pritchett - an open letter to President Obama

I received this email from a friend...the email was a letter written by Lou Pritchett...supposedly he sent this letter to The New York Times but they chose not to print the letter...my friend asked me to post this letter...the following in italics was the letter that Mr. Pritchett wrote:

Lou Pritchett is one of corporate America 's true living legends- an acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world's highest rated speakers. Successful corporate executives everywhere recognize him as the foremost leader in change management. Lou changed the way America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to be known as "partnering." Pritchett rose from soap salesman to Vice-President, Sales and Customer Development for Procter and Gamble and over the course of 36 years, made corporate history.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA

    Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me. You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll. You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others. You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for th e 'blame America ' crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector. You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer 'wind mills' to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use 'extortion' tactics against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals. You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do. You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Relllys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view. You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

Five Good Questions with . . . John Valentine

The football season is closing in fast so Stiles Points has asked some of his friends to participate in "Five Good Questions..."...yeh believe it or not, Stiles Points does have a few friends...he has to pay them $10 a month for this right...

Anyway, the first to respond is the pride of the Eastside of Youngstown, Ohio -- the real Golden Bear -- John Valentine...I've known Johnny V for 16 years even though he now lives in south Florida...he is the only Puerto Rican who does not look Puerto Rican...besides loving the NFL, he is one smooth dealer with the women...I know he was probably banging some chicks, so I want to thank him for taking a timeout to respond to this request...

Q1. Every season there are a few teams that do really well even though they were predicted to have a lousy team. For example, the Dolphins went from 1-15 to a playoff team in one year. Who are some surprise teams that we should keep an eye on and why?
    A. I'd have to go the the New Orleans Saints. I believe that their 8-8 schedule was attributed to dismal secondary, ranking in the bottom half in the league for passing yards allowed and passing scores allowed. In the off season, they promptly and efficiently addressed that by bringing in Darren Sharper and Jabari Greer, and taking stud Ohio State corner Malcom Jenkins with their first draft pick. How is that for addressing a need? The offense speaks for itself, and I believe that with this commitment to the secondary could turn around 4 of those losses from last year and make them a 12-4 team this year.

Q2. What are your thoughts about the NFL playing an 18-game regular season?
    A. I am all for it. The more games, the better. I do believe it may impact teams with players in contract disputes or need extra rehab time, but that dynamic will become part of the game. Nobody wants to see pre-season games, and ultimately the fans win.

Q3. Fun question - you have just been granted a franchise and you are able to select any 2 players in the NFL to build your team around. Who would you select and why?
    A. You have to start with a QB, and I cannot think of anyone better than Peyton Manning. Not only is he a consistent producer, he is of great moral character and work ethic. He may be the "safe pick", but if I am starting a new team, that is exactly what I want. My second pick would be Adrian Peterson. Not only for his freakish abilities, but his age. He could give me highlight reels for years to come, and the peak of his ability has yet to be seen. Given that Peyton would be his QB, he would never see 8 man fronts, making him deadly. The combo of those two would be an incredible start to a new franchise.

Q4. Of the current 32 NFL head coaches, who would you select to coach your team in a one-game must win situation? Why did you choose this coach?
    A. As much as I hate to say it, it have to would be Bill Belichick. Say what you want about the man, he will do whatever it takes to win. From Spygate to his notorious skirting of the IR reports, he is committed to getting what ever edge he can, and it is that drive that makes him successful. Given that, he is also a football genius. Offensively and defensively is always creating a new wrinkle to keep teams on their toes. His knowledge of the game is unparalleled, and many have benefited from his knowledge, with 6 of his assistant coaches becoming head coaches, 5 went on to become Div. I head coaches, and seen numerous assistant coaches or executives under him going on to becomes assistants, coordinators or executives elsewhere in the NFL. Incredible!

Q5. Last question - who will play in this year's Super Bowl -- and your winner?
    A. New England vs. Atlanta. Atlanta is a reach, but I don't like anyone else except the Saints and Giants to make any noise in the NFC, and I believe that ATL are best poised to make that run. Belichick does it again.

    Who's 0-8 now????

    BRING OUT THE BROOMS!!!
