Tom Hamilton of the Cleveland Indians is the worst baseball announcer

There are many annoying baseball announcers...the first that comes to mind is the New York Yankees John Sterling with his "Yankees Win...thaaaaaaaaaaaa Yankees Win"...the Chicago White Sox play-by-play man Hawk Harrelson gets under my skin with his "He gone" call after a White Sox pitcher strikes out a batter...but the most annoying and worst baseball announcer in the sport is the Cleveland Indians Tom Hamilton...

Hamilton calls every Indians homerun like it is a World Series clinching blast...Ryan Garko can hit a solo shot in the first inning and Hamilton will be screaming and yelling...as a kid I used to listen to Herb Score call the Indians games...Score was not perfect as he made many errors in calling the game...but at least he was professional and did not act like every homerun was the "mother of all homers"...this weekend the Tribe is honoring Hamilton as fans will be receiving a Tom Hamilton bobblehead...the Indians will then have fireworks after the game with a replay of Hamilton's greatest play-by-plays...if anyone gets one of those bobbleheads, please send it to be so I can bust it into pieces...

These announcers need to take a lesson from Los Angeles Dodgers great Vin Scully...Scully is the best baseball announcer ever...he was praised by the media for his call on Manny Ramirez's pinch-hit grand slam last week...check it out:

Thank you, Stiles. I hate the Indians but had respect for Score. Sure, he butchered names like Harry Caray, but he was classic. Yet Indians fans always tell me that Hammy is better. I don't know how anyone could say this as he talks like is gargling testicles.

Dude, you're on crack. Hammy is actually interested in the baseball game and I like that. You people are just haters.

I'm a little late..but for what it is worth.........Hey GFoney....So what do you know about the sound of gargling testicles? Is that why you thanked Stiles? Never mind. I don't wanna know. Then another wrote sperm burper. Must of been you GFoney. It's OK. No sense in being anonymous when you already outed yourself gargling Stiles' sack. Be yourself man. Don't try to return to the closet. Go Tribe!

How the HELL do you even figure that Tom Hamilton is the worst? The thing that makes him the BEST is that he DOES act like every game is the world series. The excitement he brings to the booth while announcing makes it fun to listen to the game on the radio. Even when the Indians have a bad year, he brings his enthusiasm and intensity to the game. He loves the game of baseball, and he respects the game for what it is. Who wants to listen to some boring announcer that goes "This ball is hit high and deep and gone, home run" Id much rather listen to "SWUNG ON A BELTED AAAAAAAA WAYYYYYYY BACK, THIS BALL ISSSSSSSSS GONEEEEE!!!!!! so go write your pointless blogs with a crayon because you're about as educated as a 6 year old.

Those are kind of things that it makes an announcer famous. when they are that kind of bad.

He's absolutely right. Hamilton is irritating and childish. It like he's never seen a homerun before. His voice turns into a piercing shrill scream as he describes a routine homerun. It's not his description, it the scream that irritates.

I could not agree more. Hamilton's classless screaming, which is clearly his substitute for actual talent, makes me reach for the mute button, much like Hawk Harrelson's ridiculous "put it on the boaaaaard... yes!" I am a lifelong Yankee fan, but also agree with the comment about John Sterling. It is a shame they cannot clone Vin Scully and send a copy to all 32 teams. Pure class.

I'm an Indians fan and also agree. When Hamilton is on I turn the radio off and view the score on espn's gamecast. Hamilton is from Wisconsin and is adored by many fans here as if he is a native. He is much too full of himself for me. My personal favorite is Jon Miller and was Vin Scully while he did the job. I don't know Hamilton personally, but I certainly do not enjoy him and find anyone that replaces him, (Rosie in particular) while he's out to be far more enjoyable.

Big tribe fan, love hate with Hamilton. What I do not like is his calls on opponents plays, like it was the Indians . So bull shit ridiculous. He goes way to far overboard on opponents good plays. Not a good homer play caller at all! How can Indians fans like this?
